• The scene begins with a mid shot. 
• After a couple of seconds, there is a reverse shot looking at the child's facial expressions, showing that he's scared.
• A point of view shot is then used to scan the room from the eyes of the child.
• Shot reverse shots are exchanged between the approaching monster and the boy.
• A high angle is then used to show the child is insignificant. 
• The camera shot is then taken to show how big the monster is compared to the child.

• There are a several number of more high angle shots used after to make the spectator feel that the child is helpless.
• The balance then shifts when the monster screams as well as the child, making the child seem more powerful and the monster more innocent and harmless.
